tovvok said: Is she like a robot or a biological construct?
She has a lot of magitech parts inside, but her outside is flesh.
Since you didn’t specify an OC, I picked a random number on my list of OCs and ended up with Pavola, presented here in fancy clothes.
Pavlova is actually a construct, created by a wizard in Sunacra and stolen before she was activated. She eventually came to the hands of a warlord, who figured out how to activate her and use some of the skill modules she had been built with. For a number of years, she was an all-purpose aide for him, including dancer, historian, and occasional assassin. His camp fell to an opposing army, and she struck out on her own with the knowledge of the location of all of the warlord’s hidden caches of riches. While wandering, she met up with a man named Rufus Drake (professional adventurer and rogue extraordinaire, or so his business card says), and they became good friends. When eventually they came to Sunacra, her creator found out she was in the city and managed to shut her down, planning on erasing her mind and reprogramming her completely. Rufus came to her rescue, which resulted in an extended court battle while he proved that she had attained sentience and was therefore entitled to protection as a citizen under Sunacra law.
Court battle won, Pavlova and Rufus moved to The Resort (which had grown from a business to a country a long time ago, but no one ever seems to remember to give it a name other than it’s original, The Lucky Five, that sounds more like a country). Pavlova set up the infrastructure for a community outreach and education program there, and still heads it. She’s probably dressed for some sort of charity function in this gown.
Send a number and I’ll draw my OC:
- In what they normally wear
- In what I’m currently wearing
- In a school uniform
- In swimwear
- In underwear
- With no clothes on
- In winter clothes
- In fancy clothes
- Making 3 different expressions
- Standing on their hands
- With their favorite animal
- Hanging out with a friend
- Sitting on the couch
- Doing something they don’t normally do
- Playing a sport
- Beaten up
- As a kid/adult
- Wearing a funny hat
If you know or care, you can even name the oc
Or you can give me a number between 1 and 120 and get a surprise OC. Otherwise I’ll roll the random number if you don’t have one in mind.
Wrist, Hand & Finger Stretching Routine. For those tired artsy hands! When it already hurts to draw (or write), we should stop for a moment and then stretch + rest our hands.
I’m gonna take a break and do this for a moment.
Hey artists! I’m running an art and comic anthology that’ll be kickstarted in March. It’s last minute to ask, but in a last ditch effort to diversify the book some more, if anyone would like to join and can handle the quick turn around for submission, send me a message, please!
We’re looking for either comics, or 1 page illustration contributions. The theme is “WHERE IS HOME?” and artists are expected to interpret this as openly as they desire. We have wonderful art already in our book and we’d love yours to go alongside it!
If you can signal boost this, too, that’d be wonderful! Again, it’s a quick turn around so I don’t expect many people will leap forward with full comics, but there’s always a chance someone already has something that fits, too!
Spreadin’ the word!
1. What book will you never get tired of reading?
I’ve got a few, but I guess one of my longest standbys would be the Bardic Voices series by Mercedes Lackey. They’ve got such rich worldbuilding and wonderful complex characters that I can never pick up one without reading all five.
2. What movie will you never get tired of watching?
I could make a short list, but could never pick just one. My current few I’ve been watching over and over have been Howl’s Moving Castle (although I have to sit down to read the book and both sequels every time I do), Pacific Rim, The Sandlot, and (don’t laugh at me) Clueless.
3. What is your favorite genre?
Usually fantasy, although I find myself being far more picky about it nowadays than I was when I was younger. I keep running back to the same few fantasy books and movies and picking up things of other genres instead.
4. What is you favorite game?
For board/card games, I’m a big fan of Loaded Questions. Still a big D&D lover, though.
5. Are you taking classes right now? If so, which is your favorite and why?
Not right now … I’d love to take some art classes. Maybe when I get a job and we’re a bit more financially secure, I can pick up some stuff on Skillshare, at least.
6. Do you have a job and, if so, do you enjoy it?
No, but I’m looking. Freelancing hasn’t worked out too well for me (I rarely have anything to do), so I’m looking for something to bring in some money while I try to make preparations to go into teaching.
7. If you could become one character, who would it be and why?
Weirdly enough, I honestly can’t think of anyone specific right now. I’ve always wanted to be interesting and confident enough to be the heroine, but what sort of heroine I’d want to be is always changing.
8. If you could change the events in one story, which would it be and why?
Because I watched it earlier today and am thinking about it, I’d have Eliza Doolittle give Henry Higgins a good beating with those slippers at the end of My Fair Lady. I mean, seriously?
9. Who is your current character crush?
Since Sol and I roleplay so much, my character crushes tend to roll in that direction. So I could tell you all about any character crush I had until I was blue in the face and nobody would know what I was talking about.
10. Do you have a crush on someone in real life?
Yup. We’ll be celebrating our 6th wedding anniversary in less than a month.
11. What are your plans for Valentine’s Day this year?
Lamenting the fact I don’t have the cash to celebrate Half Price Chocolate Day tomorrow. We don’t do the Valentine’s thing except to humor the baby, and she’s at her abuelos’ house this weekend.
Finished up this commission the other day - took me a bit longer than I had planned, since I ended up redoing the hands so many times. But isn’t that usually the case with hands?
Please reblog and WIN A FREE SET: I have had requests for some brush stroke examples from my new Watercolor set for Photoshop. The image above should do the trick! Each of the strokes shown were painted directly on the canvas with my stylus, using various pen pressure and direction to achieve the results shown. No added textures, no filters, etc. were used. What you see here is what happens when you paint. I am confident that there are no watercolor brushes out there that perform even close to this set. Control wet edges, opacity, softness, and more with the stylus alone. Remember, you can pre-order these brushes for only $6 before Thursday of this week. A few minutes spent experimenting with these will prove that these are worth many times that price.
Thanks for your support- please reblog this post if you have friends that paint digitally. Remember, you can win a FREE set if you reblog - I will be giving away three sets to random Tumblr users.
I really need this brush and I have no $$$$ for another couple weeks.

I don’t know how I lived life before knowing this.
